Abstract:
Concerning the customs tariff during the Ottoman domination, the Russian-Turkish treaty signed in Constantinopol on June 10, 1783 establishing commercial relations of the Romanian Principalities with the neigbouring states, stipulated that the goods were subject in Turkey to a single customs duty of only 3%. It was Art. 19 of the given treaty that established customs duties of the size of 35% of all the goods, of any origin, even if they were crossing the territory of the Ottoman Empire or that of the Principalities.
