dc.description.abstract | The following paper presents the results of the study on the identity of ex-libris, their forms and primary technologies of creating them. The implications of printing technologies in the creation of ex-libris were analyzed as well as the contexts of their usage. It was established that the reproduction of ex-libris was achieved through techniques such as woodcut, metal engraving and others. Nowadays, they can be created with the use of digital technologies that offer new possibilities for reproducing graphical elements of high detail in short amounts of time. This study led to the identification of laborious models of ex-libris which include various elements of important symbolic reference to the owner, such as heraldic, decorative elements and others. | en_US |
