Abstract

Occurred as a necessity imposed by reality, the idea of insurance is lost in the depth of centuries. At this stage, due to science, technology and broad spectrum of human knowledge, the human being has penetrated many of the nature’s mysteries and became able to predict and prevent disturbances caused by it. However, as previously mentioned, it is known that in nature there are many unpredictable phenomena which can cause serious damage to both people and their property. Facing such risks, the man found a method to protect and compensate this damage, namely the institution of insurance. In the Republic of Moldova the insurance market is still underdeveloped, artially, because of national political situation
