dc.description.abstract	This article presents the phenological aspects of some varieties of the genus Kniphofia. It includes 70 or more native African species. The leaves are reminiscent of a lily. Some varieties have been used commercially in horticultural purposes and are commonly known for their bright, rocket-shaped flowers. These plants produce spikes of brightly-colored, hanging, red-to-orange flowers. Due to this, many of them were named as "torch" and "red hot poker".	en_US
