Abstract:
The karst is a particularly geological phenomenon, those known to mankind since ancient times. Gypsum karst phenomena are less widespread not only in Moldova, but also internationally. The gypsum deposit from the northwestern Moldova is extended tens of kilometers in Podolia (Ukraine), karst processes are widespread and form a complex and unique karst attractive scientific, ecological, cultural and tourist practically. Gypsum cave "Emil Racoviţa" possess a developed system of galleries and tunnels, rooms with large openings and underground lakes. Ceiling, the bottom and walls are formed from sediments of anhydride gypsum and clays sedimented fine in microbeads of different colors. Cultural valorisation of this natural monument needs elaboration of a speleoturism draft on a national and international scale.
