dc.description.abstract The accessories have always played an essential role in costume appearance because they define the final profile of the wearer. Beginning with the Middle Ages, the Church established that all women should cover their heads with different types of headwear products. The latter protect the head from the influence of the weather (North and South areas), but they also represent an important decorative piece in different national costumes. en_US
