Abstract:
In the context of globalisation, biosecurity is an effective means of preventing infectious diseases and reducing epidemic risks. It enhances farms' productivity and economic efficiency, improves product quality, and ensures food and biological security for nations. The primary approach involves analysing existing practices, which allows for a comprehensive examination of biosecurity aspects to prevent the spread of infections, reduce the need for antimicrobial agents, and minimise the risk of antimicrobial resistance. The importance of biosecurity is growing due to urbanisation, climate change, and health threats such as antimicrobial resistance. Key principles of biosecurity include segregation, cleaning, disinfection, and consideration of human behaviour when working with animals. The study's findings will be valuable for veterinarians, farmers, and livestock operations.
