dc.description.abstract | The apple fruits diseases can be caused by bacteria , fungy, viruses etc. Postharvest parazitic diseases of apples in Moldova are predominantly cased by fungi. We dedected following fungi:Penicillium expansum, Fusarium gibbosum, Borytis cinerea, Alernaria alternate, Cladosparium herbarum. Penicillium expansum produces the carcinogenic mycotoxin patulin, and Fusarium is a producer of trichotecenes with possible interferences in the etiology of esophageal cancer. Wounds in apple fruits, lenticel and cuticle disorders are the primary sites of infection for decay-causing fungi.
