dc.description.abstract Some features related to the development of nanotechnologies in the world and in the Republic of Moldova are highlighted. It is shown that over the last ten years the researchers from Moldova succeeded to win important international grants including grants under the 7th European Framework Programme which enabled one to build key segments of the nanotechnological infrastructure. As a result of consolidated efforts, Moldovan researchers published scientific papers in monographs and toprank international journals, some of the obtained data being highly appreciated by international sites such as NanoTechWeb.org (Great Britain),MaterialsViews.com (Germany) etc. Besides, a number of technological breakthroughs have been highlighted on Cover of international journals. Success stories are related to the development of concrete device structures realized under contracts with international companies. en_US
