Abstract:
In road construction, the introduction of synthetic fibers in the asphalt mixture allows a uniform distribution and a "composite" material with superior physical and mechanical properties, which makes it possible to avoid the appearance of groove and prolong the life of the road surface. Currently, there are guidelines for the technology of reinforcing asphalt concrete pavements with the addition of basalt fibers. However, basalt fiber is not widely used. In the mixture of asphalt concrete with the addition of basalt fiber significantly increases the average density. The mineral part of the mixture mixes well, the fiber is evenly distributed in the materials. The values of the physical-mechanical indices are within the technical requirements of the standard. Asphalt concrete samples prepared in the laboratory are free of cracks and defects. For a fuller effect of influencing the addition of fiber to the mixture, additional tests, practical experience are required.
