dc.description.abstract The contemporary reality cannot be separated from the past and the future. It is just a certain stage of development. This article contains the multilateral tendencies, often contradictory, of the past, which lead to a qualitative new situation. The guilt must be considered under the historical aspect and the concepts regarding the guilt, characteristic for a particular system of law and legal family in different eras, should be systematized in order to understand the essence of guilt as a legal phenomenon and to elucidate the actual contents of this category. en_US
