dc.description.abstract The assimilating surface is the main indicator that controls the productivity of the most important process of plant life - photosynthesis. The assimilating surface of fruit plantations of crops largely depends on the variety-rootstock combination, feeding area, system of tree formation and pruning. With the age of trees, the diameter of the trunk increases. The rootstock in combination with the tree planting scheme had a significant impact on the trunk diameter, in 2022 the diameter of the trunk of Ligol trees grafted on M-4 was larger than on the rootstock M-9 (4x2 m). The results of the conducted studies show that the yield of apple trees changes under the influence of the rootstock, the planting scheme of 2021, depending on the conditions of the year. en_US
