dc.description.abstract	The article describes the importance of informatization of societyand the role of Cadastral Information System in facilitating this purpose. The discussions highlight certain weaknesses – most notably the incorrect categorization of land purpose – that could compromise the role of the system with negative implications for the national economy. The impact of incorrect land categorization over a period of twenty years was analyzed. The author concludes the need for rationalization of land categorization according to socio - economic and ecological factors and land use capabilities	en_US
