Abstract:
The organic mineral sources represent, in the last years, a nutritive supplement recommended for use in the nutrition of humans and animals, because of their superior bioavailability and biological functions as compared to inorganic sources. Also, there have been reported beneficial effects on the animal immunity. As regarding the effect of zinc deficiency on humoral immune response in dairy cows, there is little information on this subject with disputed results. As for selenium, many researchers mention its stimulating influence on the immunological status. In this work, it was studied the effect of feed supplementation with organic sources of zinc (as Bioplex - n) and selenium (asSel - Plex) on the humoral immune response in dairy cows. The results show an increased bioavailability of zinc and selenium having a positive influence on the humoral immune response
