Abstract:
One of the most economically important and widespread apple pests is the woolly aphid (Eriosoma lanigerum) (Hemiptera: Aphididae). Recently, artificial neural networks (ANNs) have been used as a tool to develop automated monitoring techniques for many agricultural pests and phenomena. By using these techniques, users can respond in a timely manner and provide targeted and effective pest control with less human intervention. Therefore, the objective of this work was to develop an analytical model for the detection of woolly aphid in apple orchards using ANN.
