Poate fi predată etica

Abstract

Filosofii au pus întrebarea dacă etica poate fi predată atunci când au avut în față idealul unei educații care să asigure formarea și îmbunătățirea conduitei tinerilor. Implementarea unui învăţământ axat pe pregătirea etică a generat și discuții despre dezvoltarea unor noi abordări şi metodologii de predare. În dialogurile lui Platon, astfel de discuții iau forma unor interogări radicale, întreprinse în general de Socrate care se întreabă despre însăși posibilitatea acestei sarcini: „Se poate preda virtutea?”. După Aristotel, conduita morală nu rezultă din simpla conștientizare a anumitor principii sau din învățarea unor maxime morale, ci este rezultatul unui exercițiu practic.

Philosophers raised the question whether ethics can be taught when they had in front of them the ideal of an education that would ensure the formation and improvement of the conduct of young people. The implementation of an education focused on ethical training has also generated discussions about the development of new teaching approaches and methodologies. In Plato's dialogues, such discussions take the form of radical inquiries, generally undertaken by Socrates who asks about the very possibility of this task: "Can virtue be taught?". According to Aristotle, moral conduct does not result from the simple awareness of certain principles or from the learning of moral maxims, but is the result of a practical exercise.
