Abstract:
The Republic of Moldova presents the convivial area of many ethnic groups, each present with everything that defines it as a culture. The traditional costume is not an exception in this regard. The aesthetics of the traditional costume is determined by the materials, the constructive, technological, functional solution. The structural-constructive analysis with an impact on the aesthetics, defining the shape of the product, of the traditional Romanian and Gagauz costume shows a linear division in the transverse direction of the Romanian costume and in the horizontal direction of the Gagauz costume. The Romanian costume consisting of shirt, fota or catrinta, belt, bondiță through the constructive lines defined by the joints of the landmarks, but also through the ornamental organization is recorded by a multitude of verticals that through rhythmic repetition amplify the wearer's dynamism and verticality. Horizontality prevails in the Gagauz costume.
