dc.description.abstract Urban planning and architecture of the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic (MSSR) was the topic of interest for several authors. There is general research or dedicated to certain aspects of this period. These include the history of architecture, urban or rural development, research in particular of buildings, their types, functions, stylistics and others. But there are no complex studies about the influence of policies and the impact of regulations in the field on the urban and architectural evolution of the MSSR. Only in some works, especially from the period concerned, the authors mention fragmentarily and carefully some legislative acts of the regulatory framework in the field. The intersection of historical, legal and arts sciences requires a complex research, and the interdependence of political, regulatory and architectural factors is a specific study, which aims to treat a whole system with an imposing impact on the formation of the Moldovan spatial image. The text includes author’s volumes and periodical publications, which have touched at least the directions of the complex research problem and reflect the statements of specialists in the field, but also the statements of some representatives of the central power, which repeatedly focus the idea of dependence of the architectural practice on the political decision. en_US
