dc.description.abstract Prepress is the term used to describe the preparation of visual information, specifically text, photos and graphics, for the printing press. Perhaps no segment of the industry has seen more change than the prepress. These changes have made the prepress almost unrecognizable for those who have been working in that area of activity for the past 10 to 20 years. The prepress is becoming more and more automatic. Due to automation, the number of the prepress process steps was reduced significantly. Automation also means a greater consistency and less human error, which results a higher quality, speed, and lower costs. All these are great benefits for the printing industry. en_US
