Abstract:
Beekeeping is of particular importance due to the value and quality of such products offered by bees as honey, pollen, bee bread, wax, royal jelly and venom. But one of the most important benefits the bees bring to humanity is pollination of entomophilies plants which are part of spontaneous and cultivated flora. It was found that the number of bee families in the Republic of Moldova, by January 1, 2012, was of 111,653 families which is 1.5 times higher compared to 2003, when this number was of 75,081 families. The number of bee families gradually increased since 2008. Also, it was recorded an increased production of honey obtained in the Republic of Moldova from 2403 tones in 2008 up to 3032,5 tones in 2012, with an average between 24,44 and 27,16 kg per bee family. The surface of fruit orchards in the agricultural enterprises and farms is about 44,323 ha, and in order to pollinate them it is necessary to have 132,969 bee families.
