Aspecte din cariera ştiinţifică a fraţilor Plugaru din Republica Moldova

Abstract

The work is provided biographical data on two scientists from the Republic of Moldova: Sergiu Plugaru is an entomologist and Ion Plugaru from the sericulture field. Sergiu Plugaru (1924-1981, Terebna, Edinet district, Republic of Moldova), biologist-zoologist since 1952, Ph.D. in biological sciences since 1964 (scientific thesis "Harmful entomofauna of a oak in the forests of Moldavia"), worked at the Institute of Zoology, Academy of Sciences of Moldova, as a senior researcher in the period 1957-1981, published 70 scientific articles, including 31 encyclopedic. Ion Plugaru (1927-1997. Terebna, Edinet district, Republic of Moldova), biologistzoologist since 1952, PhD in biological sciences since 1964 (scientific thesis "Selection of breeds and hybrids of the silkworm in Moldavia"), worked at the Institute of Zoology, Academy of Sciences of Moldova, as a senior scientific employee from 1957 to 1997, including the head of the entomology laboratory (1966-1976) and sericulture (1976-1983); published 120 scientific articles, including one monograph "Silkworm and the culture of mulberry" (1988) and one dictionary "Dictionary-reference book on silk production" (1989). The work was done to complete encyclopedic data on Moldovan scientists from the field of entomology and silkworm breeding in the Republic of Moldova, including the development of the history of the village of Terebna, Edinet district, Republic of Moldova.
