dc.description.abstract This article discusses the potential benefits and drawbacks of personal mobility devices for urban transportation, as well as ways to balance these competing interests. Electric scooters are becoming increasingly popular in the Republic of Moldova and comprehensive regulations are needed to ensure their safe and responsible use. These regulations should include registration, usage rules, rider education, third-party insurance and designated parking places. Additionally, rules and fees for scrapping electric scooters should be established to encourage responsible end-of-life management. The incorporation of electric scooters into urban transportation systems is imperative for the enhancement of multimodal mobility. en_US
