dc.description.abstract The design of industrial series of models of garments is done based on two categories of principles: elaboration of unified constructive series of models based on a common type construction (also named constructive base of series) or new models are elaborated with use of several major reference points and unified common type derivatives. These principles of elaboration of series of models must provide for the total geometric and functional interchangeability of reference elements. This work represents the results of theoretical and experimental research in the design of industrial series of models of garments. Types of industrial systems of models have been identified, principles of industrial system designs and evaluation criteria have been elaborated. In the case of industrial production systems it is recommended to design systems of models for functional flows in the conditions of specific enterprise, taking into consideration the available resources, technologies and organization of production process. The particularities of organizing the flow-based production with multiple models determine the requirements to the systems and industrial series of models. The experimental studies were aimed at the assortment of jackets for men, a stable assortment allowing to apply efficiently the principles of constructive unification. Unified constructive series of men‘s jackets included models of different sizes, waists and groups of conformance criteria for the wearers aged 18 – 40 years. These series represent a multitude of modified constructive variants with the same destination or different destinations, their main characteristics being referred to the basic construction types (silhouette, cuts of major reference elements, processing methods), while the secondary ones – the closing system, the collar, the pockets being determined by the modified variants of series, i.e. by the derived constructions of the basic model. The results of the study have been proposed for implementation at an enterprise specialized in the manufacturing of men‘s garments. en_US
