Abstract:
Development of horticulture in Moldova may be divided into five stages: l – before occupation by Russian Empire; II – after the inauguration of research station; III – before the end of war; IV – post-war period and V – sovereign period. The scientific contribution of the chair of Technology of wine, storage and 221 processing of agricultural products is relevant for the improvement of fruit storage methods. The obtained results of storage in modified atmosphere assure the necessary freshness without any deviations in the composition of dry substances at storage periods extended by 2 months, the weight loss being kept at minimum. This method allows to raise the net income by 50 %. After the reorganization of chair the themes of research are pointed towards the analysis of sorts of grapes, improvement of rose wine production technology, intensification of must processing of rose wines and extraction of pigments, impact of oak wood onto the aging of hard distillates, seven invention patents being issued.
