Abstract:
We propose a piece of software specifically designed for the study of conservation of mechanical energy in the form of a rolling ball on an inclined groove with a specific installation using a computer interfaced digital timer. The software allows the determination of kinetic and potential energies of the ball in its different positions on the groove, experimental verification of the law of conservation of mechanical energy from the ball rolling groove determining bias, standard error calculation, setting the confidence interval for a given level of confidence, building the graph of studied dependence using the method of smallest squares, as well as delivery of the report on the proposed laboratory exercise.
