dc.description.abstract Expansion of English is not exclusively a linguistic phenomenon that only penetrates Europe: it is a world phenomenon. The prestige of English has begun to grow with the popularization of the globalization ideology. The massive penetration of anglicisms in European languages over the last decades is a sociocultural phenomenon that grows as a result of a general tendency for speakers to use English in international communication. en_US
