Abstract:
Europe's future depends on its youth. It means that young
people are supposed to be a priority of the EU's vision. While respecting
Member States’ overall responsibility for youth policy, the EU Youth
Strategy, agreed by EU Ministers, sets out a framework for cooperation
covering the years 2010-2018. It has two main objectives: to provide more
and equal opportunities for young people in education and the job market
and to encourage young people to actively participate in society. Erasmus+
brings together seven existing EU programmes in the fields of Education,
Training, and Youth; it will for the first time provide support for Sport.
“Youth in Action” is the European Union programme that has helped
young people, since 2007 to boost their skills and develop their personal
capacities through non-formal learning and wider mobility.
