dc.description.abstract The quality of street lighting directly affects the safety and protection of citizens and goods. This paper highlights the application of GIS technology through modeling and simulation as support for the design, monitoring and administration of street lighting networks, having as a case study the city of Codru, from Chisinau City Hall. The modeling of the lighting areas was done using the "Buffer" tool, and for multiple simulations and analysis, the "Model Builder" procedure, ArcGIS software, was applied. Multiple analyzes offer various optimization opportunities both for the location and operation of street lighting networks. en_US
