dc.description.abstract	Nowadays the problem of sustainable development is one the most discussed and vital for mankind. Every country but also individual person can bring their contribution to establish a balance between economic growth and environment protection and should also find alternative resources. This paper presents the results of an opinion poll of 118 respondents, the majority being students. Our research identifies the awareness of the youth on the extent to which the actions of selection, usage and disposal of the footwear can contribute to promoting the concept of sustainable development. It was found that most of the respondents did not distinguish between sustainable footwear and did not know what the eco-label is, but would prefer to wear sustainable footwear, and are willing to pay a higher price for it.	en_US
