Abstract:
Dimitrie Ştiubei was born on the date of 30 august 1901, in the city of Bacău. At the age of 5 he saw for the first time the team and remained fascinated by it for the rest of his life. He served the sea as a marine officer aboard warships, accompanied by his painter’s brush, being considered by the "Herald Tribune" in 1976, "the last seascape painter of the 20th century”. His works are exhibited in museums from Romania and abroad, as well as in numerous private collections. He left the country in 1975, and established himself in Germany, reason why he was forgotten in his native country. He died on 17 February 1986 in the city of Mettmann, Germany.
