Abstract

The problem of traffic management in central areas of major European cities is of great actuality and is a common priority of experts, traffic police services and town hall. Starting from the premise that roundabouts intersections superiority is indisputable, from the point of view of traffic flow and road safety, and drawing from the experience in the field of traffic organising, the authors recently solved the traffic management issues in a known intersection of Iasi, traffic saturated. Complexity of the problem was increased by the additional traffic flows through the development in close proximity to the intersection of a large commercial complex. This paper synthesizes the development of this concept from the planning phase to materialization.
