Abstract:
In this article the author defines the concept of economic freedom, describes its components and assessing at global and national level. Perform the comparability of economic freedom in Moldova with the UE countries. How Economic Freedom Index shows the value of Moldova during the period (1001-2008) to its highest value recorded in 2003, 60.0 points, and over the years its value dropped to 58.4 points, which confirms the reduction of economic freedom. Referring to the quality of justice in the country confirms that the country skipped the requirements of the European Convention on Human Rights and European Court practice. Currently, Moldova occupies first place among the Council of Europe countries by number of complaints lodged with the CEDO, compared to 10 thousand inhabitants. The author concludes that economic freedom of citizens reflects weak possibilities of human society to achieve his needs are differentiated from one country to another and that creates an entrepreneurial environment.
