dc.description.abstract We investigate the phenomena of excitability and coherence resonance of single mode DFB laser with passive dispersive reflector. We show that under an appropriate level of noise the excitable element can display the coherence resonance. Finally, we discuss the importance of excitability and coherence resonance for applications in communication networks. en_US
