Abstract:
The rheological properties of bitumen are transmitted building materials based on bitumen, with some modifications and attenuation introduced by other components of these materials. Rheology can be regarded as a branch of physics that deals with the behavior of deformable bodies that possess at least one of the following properties: elasticity, plasticity and viscosity. Rheology of bitumen at a given temperature is determined both by the constitution, ie its chemical composition and physical arrangement of hydrocarbon molecular structures predominate in the material. A change in the constitution or only physical structure, or both of them, leading to bitumen rheology modification. Thus, to understand the changes occurring bitumen rheology-structure interaction is essential to know the constitution in influencing rheology.
