Abstract:
The article presents the possibility that the properties of the fine ash (FA) can be improved by adding various substances, such as binders, salts, etc. This may allow the successful use of CF for achieving road structures. CF strength is inversely proportional to the amount of loss on ignition (ie non-combustible part of the CF) and depends on the content of CaO directly. Effect of water content and the compactness of the increasing resistance of CF is also remarkable. Use binders can significantly improve environmental and geotechnical properties of CF. There are several binders or assets that can be used with CF. The most important of these are different types of lime and cement, as well as industrial waste such as slag (particularly the blast furnace slag), gypsum, reactive ash and RDG (residue from desulphurization of flue gas).
