Abstract:
The final stage of a bridge construction, before putting the structure in service, consists in static and dynamic testing of the structure, in order to prove its resistance capacity under service loads. The Eurocodes introduced as compulsory design standards around Europe a couple years ago do not state a way to perform the testing of a bridge. And this is because each country has specific conditions and the rules should apply in a different manner. This paper presents the results obtained using several different numerical models on a bridge situated on the motorway between Orăştie and Sibiu, applying the test convoys as used in real test performed on the bridge. The differences obtained for the measured parameters are shown in explicit graphs together with appropriate comments.
