dc.description.abstract	The paper is a synthesis of the main methods of lines definition. The line is examined as the intersection of two surfaces, as the graph of a function or of an equation. A special attention is paid to the lines defined parametrically and to the ones which represent the graphs of functions in the polar coordinate system. Examples are given for each case.	en_US
