dc.description.abstract | Globalization is an inevitable phenomenon in human history, in which the world becomes more interconnected as a result of exchange of goods and products, information, knowledge and cultural values. However, in recent decades, the pace of this global integration has become much faster and more impressive due to unprecedented advances in areas such as technology, communications, science, transport and industry. Although globalization accelerates human development and is a consequence of it, it is not a process that is easy to adapt and that creates serious problems and difficulties. Such a rapid pace of the change can become threatening, and most countries try to control or manage it. The latest wave of globalization, which took place in 1980, resulted from a combination of advances in transport and communications technologies, along with the actions of large developing countries that sought to attract foreign investment by opening their economies to an international trade. | en_US |
