Abstract:
Architectural monuments, historic districts, cultural landscapes enrich us and help us maintain a sense of belonging to an ethnic community. Supporting it requires effort at all levels. The Constitution of the Republic of Moldova stipulates that the protection and preservation of historical and cultural monuments is an obligation of every citizen, but these provisions do not refer in any way to the obligations of the state in this field.
The protection of the national cultural heritage must be an imperative norm for all the citizens of the community, members of which they are part, and the state through its legal and normative framework must ensure the achievement of this desideratum.
It is necessary the legislative and institutional consolidation of the national system for the protection of the cultural heritage, for the transition to the European standards in the field and the creation of the necessary legislative conditions for the safeguarding of the immovable cultural heritage of the Republic of Moldova.
