dc.description.abstract The present paper discusses the results of the total se content in different types of soils on the territory of both the Ukrainian forest-and-steppe region and the Ukrainian steppe on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, both of them situated on the left bank of the Dniester. It was established that the mean value of the total Se concentration in the soils of the region was 0.46 mg/kg, the lowest being 0.10 mg/kg and the highest being 1.93 mg/kg. The optimal se concentration is spotted in the majority of the samples for all types of soils. The se deficiency in soil was revealed in only one case. The exceeding of the se toxic level in the investigated soil samples was not found en_US
