dc.description.abstract This paper presents an analysis and systematization of the diverse methods on the optimal placement of the phasor measurement units (PMU). It is proposed the classification of the methods developed up to date in different articles, there are highlighted the advantages and disadvantages of these methods, considering the variety of the cases of their application. There is analyzed the novel method of determinant measures for optimal PMU placement. en_US
